Color Bewildered

Picture
ABOUT THE PROJECT
In this project what I did was first I drew lines from border to border, then I drew  all kinds of different shapes. It didn't matter if the lines got mixed up with the shapes or the shapes with other shapes, that seemed to make it more interesting. After I finished drawing I colored using shading technique that changed from one color to another. I also used pointilism or cross shading to produce the color of the various shapes.

REFLECTION
I think that the most important thing I learned from this project is that sometimes you may think mixing colors and different shapes may not be posible to create a good work of art, but with this technique I realized that the mixture of colors, lines and shapes and make an interesting portrait.

The Proportional Face

Picture
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The first step in trying to make a proportional face was to take a picture of myself. Then I cut the picture in half and glued one of the pieces to a medium size cardboard. The other half I used to glance at while I sketched the other half of my face, using a pencil and a blending stick. It was important to try and make sure that I was making proportional shadows and that the drawing in general would be semetrical.

REFLECTION
While doing this project there was something that influenced in me greatly, and that was the use of shading. I found that it was a very interesting technique and may be used in different kids of drawings and it creates light. Even though I liked learning about this technique it was difficult for me to try and draw the other half of my face so it could look the safe as the original. I tried my best, but it was still difficult to achieve.

Symbolic Map

Picture
ABOUT THE PROJECT
What I did in this project was using personal information and important events in my life and put them in this map using different kind of symbols. I first did a sketch of my map in my sketchbook, I used lots of geographic features and important things that really represent my likes or dislikes. Then I realized the original map, and I included a key with all the symbols and its meaning on the bottom of the A3 cardboard.

REFLECTION
Something really important that I learned while doing this map was that sometimes some things an have a real meaning and you can represent them with lots of different things. Also in my opinion this map has a huge amount of personal information. I enjoy doing this project since the beggining, to tell the truth.
